I have downloaded the software but I can't proceed with the setup since when I put my activation key (it came with the Elgato EyeTV 250 Plus) nothing happens.

The "Next" button is grayed out therefore it cannot be clicked to finish the setup.

Don't tell me I need to purchase a new license for the program please.

I tried to get in contact with customer support to get this issue solved  (by using various contact forms on the geniatech web site),

but none seems to work, I even did not get an information, that my request has been received.

Does anybody know, hw to get in contact with customer support ?

Today I saw pop up an offer to upgrade EyeTV 4 to 8532. It says it is compatible w/ OS 14; but it says nothing about compatibility with OS 11.  Will this work with Big Sur  OS 11.7.6, which I have?

1. Has anybody actually tried the EyeTV Sat DVB-S2 with EyeTV4?
2. Can anybody post the terms of the license, how many Macs does one purchase cover?
3. Other than compatibility with 10.15, (which I am not using), does EyeTV4 offer anything over EyeTV3?

About an hour ago, I got "This Channel Is Not Available", for all channels. Nothing in the lan has changed. In fact, as far as I can tell, nothing has changed anywhere (except EyeTV has stopped working).

I can view all channels from (Australian) ABC iView in this Mac or my Mac laptop, so the channels are certainly available

This arrangement has been working fine for months until now.

The problem : EyeTV 4 now only works if I am running my computer on battery power. Even then, the image is pixelated and occasionally the signal is lost entirely.

Furthermore, it suddenly stops working  altogether if I connect my computer to power source.
I am been using EyeTV 4 for since its release (and used EyeTV 3 for years before that) and have never had this problem before.

My antenna connections are the same as I have always used, and which have worked perfectly.
I have erased the app with “Reporter” and re-installed. Same problem.
I am working with iOS Catalina 10.15.7 on a MacBook Pro.

Corrupted software ? Hardware problem ?

All suggestions welcome.

The satellite setup is defined in the Devices->EyeTV Sat->Sevice:->Satellite Setup

EyeTV 4 (8520) can switch between the heads using DiSEqC and can scan all three satellite positions as evidenced in the EyeTVAutotune logs. However, only the Astra channels at 19.2E can be shown in the All Channels pane since it is not possible to select satellites in that pane. All other channels only exist in the tuning logs.

The transponder definitions for 5W in the EyeTV application->Show Package Contents->Resources->Satellites->3550.xml are for Atlantic Bird 3 which is superceded by Eutelsat 5 West B with different transponder definitions and should be updated.

I have been using EyeTV for many years but now my EPG subscription is due and I cannot find a way to renew it. Can anyone help please,

146 days without EPG data

... at this point all excuses are just that excuses... "engineers' have had AMPLE time to correct the issue. If it is "server related" there's been ample time to correct that as well...

Now.. Giniatech is simply in breech of the agreement they made with users (all users) --- users pay for software with a specific set of features, then pay additionally for EPG data, in return Geniatech agreed to provide the software and EPG data --- Geniatch is breeching the agreement.

I wish I were a more litigious individual... but class action seems relevant.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GENIATECH - There is ZERO product support.

I was running EyeTV 3 on my Mac mini as video library for my iPad and MacBook Pro. The EPG was updated by an AppleScript that was running every night, opened a player window waited 30 seconds and than selects the next channel. the scripts quits after 10 -15 minutes and my EPG was always up to date.

Last week I upgraded my Mac mini to Catalina and EyeTV 4. I tried my script but the command "open player_window" does not work with EyeTV 4. If a player window is already open, my script loops throught the channels as expected. I even allowed my script to access EyeTV at the security preferences under automation, but this does not change anything. 

Looks like the command "open player_window" is broken or is interfering with some security feature of Catalina.

If someone else found a solution I would appreciate a comment.

I reported this problem to Geniatech support.

In December 2021 and January 2022 due to ongoing crashes and quality issues in general I exchanged dozens of mails with Geniatech Europe and Geniatech Shenzen. On their request I sent them many screen shots and software error logs. And I made them aware of mistakes in their advertising in regards too EyeTV 4 for Macs (i.e. referring to Apple software that does not exist anymore, listing features that are not working in EyeTV 4 anymore and using outdated Apple terms). 
The result was rather frustrating. A lot of mails but nearly no improvement in regards to the software.
Is it because of a low number of users? Certainly not as the the German director of Geniatech Europe (Mike Decker) wrote me that they have an user community with a two times seven digit number (means millions of users).

Fact is: Geniatech completely missed the long in advance announced transfer of the Apple world to a 64-bit OS, that already started in 2010. And in 2018, when Apple stopped to support the 32-bit apps, It took them 15 months to produce a kind of beta software that had a very limited feature set. Furthermore they used Covid-19 as an argument for not being able to deliver within an acceptable time frame. Even now, 4 years later, EyeTV macOS is far away of being a finalised product with all the promised features – features we were used to by using the old EyeTV 3, coded by Elgato.

And again they missed to make use of the developer version for the new macOS Ventura 13 that was available for months before the public launch. The result: After the update to macOS Ventura EyeTV 4 became unusable. Once more, we, the user community, feel frustrated and cheated by Geniatech. 

In the US of A and most probably also in the EU such a behavior would qualify for a legal battle, as Geniatech never delivered the advertised feature set and still selling this software in an unfinished and now even crashing version. Beside the legal aspects simply it is a question of business ethics. It looks like thet totally unacceptable behavior of this company needs to be counteracted by the power of their customers. 
As nobody at Geniatech cares in regards to the content of this forum, all of us should send a huge amount of complaining mails to the people concerned.

During my contacts with Geniatech Shenzen and Germany I collected the contact addresses listed below. Feel free to flood these mail addresses with your complaints.

With the old Version (3) and with the iPad I can watch all stations I want, including "One" and "tagesschauHD". With EyeTV 4.0 these two stations can not be displayed, there is only "This station is currently not available".

The info about the stations in EyeTV show a little difference. The "official" frequency (what I found in the web) is: 11053 MHz H, EyeTV sets 11052,75. Could this be the problem? And how can I change this? I tried to add a station manually but it shows nowhere in the station list.

What can be done to fix this? Thanks in advance,
