Is there any plan to get this h265 codec supported in the nearest future on EyeTV W device?

It cannot receive “Freeview HD” signals (which are DVB-T2).

It is only for receiving DTT (DVB-T, TNT, Freeview) signals in many European countries, and Australia.

You can plug the small end of that cable (the Micro USB end) into EyeTV W.

You can plug the standard USB end into any USB port, like on a computer.

Then, EyeTV W will start charging.

You can also use a USB power adapter that plugs into a wall outlet.

The following apps will not work with that particular Samsung tablet:

Elgato Tivizen
EyeTV Micro
EyeTV Netstream
EyeTV Sat>IP
EyeTV W 

They will not work because the specific Intel Atom processor that tablet uses is not supported.  Unfortunately, a workaround is not possible.

Other devices do work, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0.

This error message appears because your Android device is checking the Internet connection of the Wi-Fi hotspot (EyeTV W in this case). As EyeTV W has no possibility to connect to Internet, the Android device will refuse to use EyeTV W as Wi-Fi hotspot.

To solve this problem, you just need to uncheck the “Check for Internet service” checkbox in your Wi-Fi advanced settings. On most Android devices, the Wi-Fi advanced settings are accessible via Settings -> Wi-Fi -> ‘Menu’ button -> Advanced.

EyeTV W will not send any video to a Mac or PC.

It will not work with Windows or OS X.

It will not connect to EyeTV or TerraTec Home Cinema (THC) software.

An internet connection is not required to receive TV signals.  The DTT (Freeview or DVB-T) signals are solely received via the antenna/aerial attached to the EyeTV W.

The minimal configuration to use EyeTV W is that it needs to be connected to your device using a closed wireless (Wi-Fi) network.

Wi-Fi access to the internet will not be available when EyeTV W is connected to your device via Wi-Fi.  If your device offers cellular or Bluetooth connections to the internet, then those will not be disrupted while EyeTV W is in use.

It will not function in North America or other regions of the world at all.

North American digital TV over antenna is known as ATSC, which EyeTV W can’t receive.

EyeTV W accepts no analog inputs of any kind.

That recording can be manually copied to a computer via iTunes, and played using EyeTV software, or VLC(http://www.videolan.org).

The .eyetv format is a package (special folder) which contains a MPEG-2 Transport Stream file or MPEG-4/H.264 Transport Stream file, and other metadata.

The actual recording will be found in the .eyetv package/folder, and will end in .mpg.  Use the .mpg file to play back your recording.

Using Recordings on a Mac

1) Launch iTunes

2) Connect your iOS device to your Mac

3) In the App section, find the File Sharing option, and select EyeTV W

4) The EyeTV W recordings will appear, and you can copy them to your Mac

5) Play the .eyetv recording using EyeTV software, the free VLC (http://www.videolan.org) application, or any other application that can handle MPEG-2 Transport Stream files.

Using Recordings on a Windows PC

1) Launch iTunes

2) Connect your iOS device to your PC

3) In the App section, find the File Sharing option, and select EyeTV W

4) The EyeTV W recordings will appear, and you can copy them to your PC
