  1. Finally bit the bullet and purchased Channels for tvOS to watch live TV on my Apple TV. This works with the HDHomeRun tuner that I needed for DVBLInk but runs directly on the ATV instead of needing server software on a Mac. The user interface is good and the video and audio quality are excellent (happy that lipsync is good when playing to stereo Homepods). I am not using the Channels DVR service as I still run EyeTV on a Mac for recording (but have to convert it for use with the tvOS Computers app) BTW - EyeTV is 32bit and so won't run on the next macOS after Mojave.
  2. Couldn't solve the IP-address problem with my media iMac so I moved the server software to another iMac (with excellent assistance from DVBLogic support) and all is well. I still prefer the EyeTV ios app and hope it will be ported to TVos but at least I can now watch live TV on my (misnamed) Apple TV.
  3. I have come across a frustrating problem - the IP address of the DVBLink Server changes and I need to add a "new" server to the list on Apple TV every few days. I have searched for a solution/reason but have not been successful. I realise it is off-topic for an EyeTV forum but if anyone has suggestions it would be appreciated. Is the IP address from the iMac where DVDLink server is running or is it the HDHomeRun device?
  4. I now have an HDHomeRun tuner installed on my network and DVBServer installed on a Mac (still in trial period). It seems to work well with the ATV DVBLink app although the user-interface is very clunky. Bye-bye EyeTV, after many years!
  5. "There was no compatible tuner detected on your system.." Grrr
  6. Will DVBlink work with an (old) EyeTV USB tuner? They are not listed on the DVBlink server web page ( https://dvblogic.com/en/dvblink/macos/dvblink-tvsource/ )
  7. There have been some recent developments with Plex and Live (free2air) TV: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/plex-launches-live-tv-support-for-apple-tv-app.2059690/#post-24864344 but not all users are reporting a good experience (and it needs a paid subscription)!
  8. A bit of duplication from the above posts but it is worth summarising the situation... The big difference, as far as I can tell, it that Netstream 4C uses broadband internet for streaming Cable TV (which needs a subscription?) whereas EyeTV running on a Mac uses TV tuner - free-to-air and no need for internet. We don't have a conventional TV in our house. I have been using a Mac with EyeTV for many years. I can play live TV and EyeTV recordings to my projector from the Mac but need to switch the projector input to play other media from the ATV4. I have tried using airplay on an iPad running EyeTV for iOS to watch the show on the projector (via ATV4) but the quality is poor (it goes through 2 on-the-fly conversions and wifi streams). However, watching EyeTV live/recordings directly on the iPad works very well. That is all that I want from a TVOS app.
  9. A great idea to invite Ton to visit and explain the user needs. I recommend that you have an EyeTV system set up already so he/she can demonstrate EyeTV for iOS - a Mac running the EyeTV app with a USB tuner and an iPad on the same network with EyeTV for iOS.
  10. Infuse? Can you please provide more info. I assume it wont play live TV from a Mac running Eyetv and so is not like the ios Eyetv app that most of us were hoping for.
  11. Watch this website for new TVOS apps: http://www.148apps.com/newest-148-app-store-additions/5/any/ No sign of an EyeTV app of course
