  1. I have the same problem and it doesn't matter if I use Gracenote or XMLTV. I'm not going to renew Gracenote as it is now a rip off. Is anyone interested in investigating a class action lawsuit against Geniatech and Elgato?
  2. How many ways can you skin a cat? Well here's 2 more besides cron daemon: https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/MacOSX/Conceptual/BPSystemStartup/Chapters/CreatingLaunchdJobs.html https://superuser.com/questions/1253244/run-applescript-at-a-specific-second (Uses Calendar app to run AppleScript every day) I'm favouring launcd as I already have some at startup & shutdown.
  3. Rodolphe, Thanks a bunch! Have things working manually using 'curl' instead of 'wget' as 'wget' not native on OS X. xmldv.co.uk running now. Going to look at implementing using Apple Script. Will publish when working. Cheers, Old Goat
  4. Hi, Would you mind sharing your script and how to implement it?
  5. Problem still exists for me in spite of bitching at GeniaTech multiple times about it. I also find that the DVB system seems to be broken also with some channels just blank. If I wasn't so happy with my Netstream 4Sat, I'd ditch EyeTV. Think I'll start looking for an alternative but other than the Gracenote being rubbish it does everything I want.
  6. This problem seems to come and go randomly. Yesterday I had gaps in the schedule for 3 or 4 stations but manually updating retrieved them. Quite frankly, once my subscription to Gracenote expires, I'll not be renewing it. It certainly is not worth the money.
  7. For the past 2 or 3 days the Gracenote program service has been missing random program schedules. This seems to happen regularly which is most irritating. Anyone have a clue as to the current situation?
  8. That's a bugger! Oh well, all's well that ends well.
  9. Well done!! Alright, give over, what was the glitch? OK, you don't have to tell us.
  10. Hi Ton, That's a bugger! I don't have a 4C nor Cable feed so I can't have a play. I don't suppose you live anywhere near South East Scotland? I've just about always found in these situations that it's something one keeps overlooking in the process like me with the version numbers. I was sure I had the latest version of EyeTV but of course was way out. About the only thing you can do is to go back over the process step by step questioning "everything". What's known as the Scientific Method. If you want a small treatise on the Scientific method, read Robert M. Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Might take awhile (Especially reading the book) but you just might get there in the end and have some fun along the way. Good Luck, OldGoat
  11. Sorry, didn't mean they had to start at the same time, just have 4 overlap at some point. Also didn't realise you had a 4C. Assumed a 4SAT as that is the topic of this discussion. Don't know if there is enough difference to cause a problem. Not sure if I can be of any further help but ask away if you like
  12. Hi Ton, Think I may have found your problem. When you tried to record 4 channels, did you go the the Program Guide and click on the record button for each channel? If so, try scheduling 4 channels such that they will all be recording at the same time. I can only record 2 channels by clicking on the record buttons. Also may be another issue in that my screen shots of connecting to the unit are a bit different from yours. I can't get 192.168.1.3/tunerstatus, just .../status and it's not as pretty as yours!
  13. Also are you sure you used defaults write com.elgato.eyetv “max SAT2IP tuners” -int 4 I I think someone edited the original posting by Vanessa because I copied the command from her posting and it didn't work because it has SAT-IP instead of SAT2IP in it. and not defaults write com.elgato.eyetv “max SAT-IP tuners” -int 4 You can check to see if it has worked by ~ $ defaults read com.elgato.eyetv | grep SAT2IP "max SAT2IP tuners" = 4; Some people have no understanding of the imperative to make things work correctly!! ;-)
  14. Hi Ton, Possibly, you should check. See https://www.geniatech.eu/eyetv/faq/eyetv-netstream-4sat-firmware-update/ You could also do a reset on the Netstream. See https://www.geniatech.eu/eyetv/faq/eyetv-netstream-4sat-reset-procedure/ That might require updating firmware.
  15. Hi Ton, Did you do the defaults write com.elgato.eyetv “max SAT2IP tuners” -int 4 command afterward?
  16. @Ton You must remove any EtyTV or Elgato (EyeConnect files and do a clean install of EyeTV. Besides running the EyeTV Reporter remove anything having to do with eyeTV or Elegato in /Library. It took me 3 times to get it right so persevere.
  17. My apologies to all for saying that the build numbers were not correct. Evidently I had recurring episodes of being crosseyed when looking at the two web pages. Just goes to show you that you see what you expect to see. See http://theinvisiblegorilla.com/gorilla_experiment.html I have to admit I don’t understand why 7415 & 7416 are available for download as they seem to have been replaced by 7514. And I think it would be better if all downloads were on the same page with notations as to why they are available. I found using 2 different pages confusing and got completely muddled up by the similarity of the numbers, 7x14, 7x15, 7x16. Hope this exercise has been useful to others.
  18. https://www.geniatech.eu/eyetv/support/eyetv-3-en/ Shows https://www.geniatech.eu/eyetv/software/ As far as I know the usual practice is the higher the build number (7516 in this case) for the same version number, the more recent the version is with the highest build number being the latest. Am I wrong? I am assuming that 7514, 7515 & 7516 are build numbers. This is how I was lead to install build 7516. When selecting "Share my EyeTV archive" the EyeConnect Update Required dialog box opened, when clicking on it, it opened https://www.geniatech.eu/eyetv/support/eyetv-3-en/. Now I'm not sure which version of EyeTV I was running but having found that uninstalling EyeTV doesn't uninstall EyeConnect and leaves other preference files laying about. All seems to be in order now.
  19. Hi Mikyesun, I was trying this with 3.6.3 (7516) which I installed because of EyeConnect not working and leading me to install 7516 which didn't sort the EyeConnect anyway. Geniatech's website is a bit confusing in that it lists builds 7515 & 7516 which one would believe are later than 7514. That said I do now have this working with build 7514. Not only can I record 4 channels from Netstream 4SAT I can also record 2 more channels from my EyeTV Diversity. This may sound a bit of overkill but the EyeTV Diversity is useful in that it allows the use of the EyeTV remote control for both 4SAT & Diversity which is very handy. I now have to sort out the EyeConnect problem but that's for a different topic although I do have a support ticket open for it. Connection speed to NS 4SAT is not a problem as my iMac is connected by cable to router. Recording 6 channels may prove to be too much of a load on computer itself but that's my problem. Thanks for your help.
  20. I raised an incident regarding this with Geniatech Support and finally had a response after 3 weeks. It suggested that I do what we have been doing above and my response was to send them a link to this discussion. I't might be another 3 weeks before they respond but we'll see.
  21. Please explain what the "format issue" is and how it can be changed?
  22. Well, I have an EyeTV Diversity connected and can recored simultaneous programs on it while simultaneously recording 2 on Netstream 4SAT and record 2 more Netstream 4SAT programs on another computer. This is in the UK.
  23. Same result for me and get the following: ~ $ defaults read com.elgato.eyetv | grep "SAT" "use white list for SAT-IP" = 0; There doesn't appear to be a item "SAT2IP" Also tried: ~ $ defaults write com.elgato.eyetv “max SAT-IP tuners” -int 4 2017-01-22 16:13:40.541 defaults[65494:27411099] Unexpected argument tuners”; leaving defaults unchanged. ~ $ defaults write com.elgato.eyetv “max SAT-IP” -int 4 2017-01-22 16:13:52.830 defaults[65504:27411224] Unexpected argument -int; leaving defaults unchanged. I also have an EyeTV Diversity connected and can recored simultaneous programs on it while simultaneously recording 2 on Netstream 4SAT and record 2 more Netstream 4SAT programs on another computer.
