  1. I'm trying to decide what to do. I'm still on EyeTV 3, but unlike others here, my experience with 3 has been really frustrating ever since upgrading from (high?) Sierra to Mojave. I've been back and forth with Geniatech about it and they ultimately said I need to upgrade to EyeTV 4. They also claimed that my Mac Mini from 2015 doesn't have a fast enough processor (at 1.4 GHz). I have a new Mac Mini sitting next to it running Catalina and am trying to decide whether to buy EyeTV4 and continue using my EyeTV Hybrid or plop down a lot more money on an HDHomeRun Connect and a lifetime subscription to PLEX. Though I also wonder if the free version of PLEX can be set manually to record and/or import .tvvi files from titantv.com to schedule recordings. Actually, I just realized I might be able to try the free version of PLEX with my EyeTV hybrid to see if it can do these things? Can it get live TV from an EyeTV Hybrid?
  2. Have you figured this out? I have the same(?) issue after updating to Mojave. The image and sound frequently freeze for brief periods of time (1-30 seconds) and the cursor becomes a beach ball. No other apps are misbehaving when this happens and my processor load is not at capacity. late 2014 Mac mini, Mojave eyetv3, 3.6.8 eyetv hybrid The freezes are different from when there’s poor signal. I’m watching the strongest signal channel I have and I never experienced freezes like this. Both audio and video stop simultaneously and as I said, I get the beach all if I move the cursor. If I click on the desktop, I also get the Beach ball when I hover over the spotlight menu icon although I do have the recommended eyetv folder excluded from spotlight indexing. Also, I had some difficulty running Eyetv initially after the update. It kept crashing and numerous times I had to disconnect and reconnect the Eyetv hybrid usb dongle. Also possibly related, my *entire* system audio will stop occasionally and the only thing that restores it is unplugging and replugging the the mini headphone jack on the back of the computer.

  5. Have you figured this out? I have the sane(?) issue after updating to Mojave. The image and sound frequently freeze for brief periods of time (1-30 seconds) and the cursor becomes a beach ball. No other apps are misbehaving when this happens and my processor load is not at capacity.
  6. I have a late 2014 Mac mini and an eyetv hybrid with the 3.6.8 eyetv software. I upgraded the OS recently from (I think) Sierra to Mojave and like the original poster, I don’t remember noticing the freezes right away, but now it’s very difficult to watch anything because of these freezes. I know that the previous OS was 1 after the one it came with. It was crashing for awhile initially after the update, but I thought it had stabilized. i tried deleting the eyetv helper application and having Eyetv reinstall it. No luck. I did see the talk about spotlight indexing and noted during a free that it I clicked on the desktop, then hovered the cursor over the spotlight menu icon and it changed to the beach ball. Has anyone figured this out? I’m thinking about trying to reinstall the old OS...
