Encrypted means that the provider will allow viewing only when there is either a SetTopBox, Smartcard or similar. Hybrid does not have that. There are devices that can circumvent this (Softcam, etc) but dependance on country of origin and more.

Strangely I missen the above thread. However I get a horrible feeling from the screenprints meaning that it is going to be a standalone app as in 'no connection to the Mac'. And that is not what many people want. You must understanding that the EyeTV app on IOS fulfillmenttarieven the need of many people: watchint Live TV, setup recordings either schedules or on the fly and mostly watching already recorded stuff on the Mac. As the aTV has not much Ram recordings must be schedules somewhere else. Hope you are not thinking in Cloud solution, too ezpensive too slow, Also USB devices cannot be connected to aTV. Also EyeTV 4, please no Cloud. It is inefficiënt, expensive, slow.. Too bad you did not tell us months ago this would be the way the aTV app was going. You would have saved a lot of effort. But hope my fears are wrong.

From a messsage of @Mikyesun I understand that the 4C can now be used all 4 tuners used with EyeTV3 software. So then there would be no more limitations. Since I once shelled out the money and encountered this limitation I would like to know from users whether they can correlate this new information. Meaning you can record/wat up to 4 different programs.

You forget that the majority uses HDHR and since the Netstreams use a fully proprietary protocol which is (till now) not handed over to the largest software developers (DVBlogic, TVHeadend) meaning that the selling possibilities of Netstream (even when the 4 tunerproblem is solved) are quit small. Whereas selling possibilities of a EyeTV 3 (4 even better) are very large since of the 3 it is the most comfortable software. For Win/Linus users your hardware is less interestin. They have a wide scala of software to choose from and a wide scala of (often) cheaper hardware to use. On the aTV4 (elsewgere defined as thirdparty product). Please do nog forget that your customerbase are Mac-users and most Mac-users have an aTV, Just the fact that you do not produce the hardware does not make a some 3rd far away product. This besides that fact that June 2016 you were in betatesting (see older messages) makes it funny that it not yet released. The fact that the IOS apps mean that Mac has to be running is not important. All TV products that have a PC/Mac/Nas as counterpart demands that it is running. Otherwise you will have no link between recorded programs. And standalone aTV apps are long availalable but only really usefull for those not wanting TV on their main system. But its your company, so do whatever you think is best.

There is only 1 reason for me to mention other productschap and that is to help people that are the victims of your products. I would have no reason to do so IF Geniatech had the guts to answer people when they report problems. There is seldom anybody here. Also YOUR company is to blame because you give no serieus timeline. Take the aTV, in June you wrote you were beta testing, then realeqse would be end 2016, then end Januar 2017, today it is still not available. Netstream problems, devices are marketeer for a long time but seriously handicapped. Equipes with 4 tuners but only 2 cn be used with EyeTV. Very good looking devices but (deliberately?) not worth the money. Homerun products, only the very, very OLD tuner can be used. The new one HDHR3-EU Cannon be used. Why, it is technically identical to the old one. Again, give u's serieus timeline, invité people to Beta testing (who else are your testers? Colleques at company?). If you are a log time de sloper you will know that public testers are the way to get the bugs out. Apple allows door 1000 betatester, so. O problem there. Not to prinses myself but I would not be surprise if I have poster more (in trying to help YOUR) customers then all of the staf of this forum together! So it is YOU that has to start giving serious and correct information, replays to YOUR customers. Only reason I involve myself here is because I find EyeTV the best of the 3 options and would hate it to become abandonware. This forum is here nog for about a year and all we see is few minorupdates.

I omce was so dumb to buy the Netstream 4C. It had the same problem. For almost a full month Ihave been emailing with their technical people. None had a solution. So I returned the unit to the reseller because it did not work as expected. Also because in their information there is no limitations mentioned. elsewhere in this forum this issue is discussed and there a member of GT said the limitations is built in because in their opinion no one will want to encore/watch more than 2 station. Dumb idea!

When you are remote then it is nucessary that: - port 2170 must be forward in your router to the computer running EyeTV - port 2170 must be allowed by the Firewall on the computer running EyeTV. This FW can be installeer by you are the Apple built-in, see system Preferences. - port 2170 must not be blokkend by the router that you remotely connect to. Some hotels block things on their Wifi,

@thomaskud First we were told end 2016, then end of jan 2017, Now end of feb 2017. If you are to be believed then there must already a beta version. Give proof of your words my letting people here use that version. It is simple, lot of developers do that and nowadays you can even invite up to 1.000 people in such a program. Maybe also you can take another look in your Crystal bowl and make some prediction as to when there will be an EyeTV 3 (or better v4) that allows the use of modern day devices like HDHR3-4DC and/or is able to use all 4 decoders of Netstream 4C? Serious answers are highly appreciated.

@Mikyesun Although it is good to see (at last!) a reaction from someone linked to Geniatech (I suppose that form the word "moderator") but you specifically answer question not asked in this thread. This thread is about non-response of the Company, about making promesses that are not kept, about non-communication, about not acting to Problem reports, about not delegering products (like aTV), about not repairing crippled software, about hardware that is severely crippled and more.

Sorry, I know (altmost) nothing about Win. Use it once a year for my accounting. But there are a lot of TV-software on Win. Take a look at dvblogin.com. They have a fully unlimited version for Win (and Mac) that Will fullfill nearly all your wishes. Only limitaties is that you must upgrade to paid version if you want to use the aTV4 software too. (Yeas they have a free app for that)

If you buy the HDHR3-4DC from Amazon.de it will function perfectst.

And I'm afraad there will be many many more to come.

I use OSX 10.12.3 i.c.w. EyeTV 3.6.9 (7514). No problems. Since YMMV it is always advisable to make a 100% clone to an external bootable HD (check whether it is really bootable!) using tools like CCC before any major update. That way, you can always fall back and restore old situation.

If you're running Windows then sent the thing back and get yourself a HDHR. This works with a variety of software and platform. As I wrote elsewhere: the Netstream 4C is. in its present form money thrown away.

I also have a lot of keys that I copy and paste. Sometimes a key is refused. Always that is caused by a leasing or trailing space. Maybe this helps.

Go ahead if you believe so but remember that more and more PC's Cannon read Dvd anymore.

Why DVD format? It is very inefficiënt and takes up unnecessary space. I would-be concert to .MKV preferabel with Handbrake givong good quality and efficiency. Then files can be either played diirectly from Finder or using any Mediaplayer to your liking.

DVBLink is primarily software for recording. Playback can be started from DVBLink but playback is not the prime use. It's more or less the same as EyeTV which is also meant for recording. neither will playback recordings made with another programm. No reason and also too complocated because both offer informatieontsluiting on the recording show which is not available for external recordings.

I do remember that the v2 and v3 use completely different serials. v2 will not work with v3. It is too bad that there are no real demo/lite versions. There are off course other places to get software (Torrent/NZB) but I am afraid that the moment I mention the URL that Geniatech will at last react. Not by responding to the problem. Anyway, Geniatechshould be able to let you download a v2 version.

There is an alternatieve to EyeTV. DVBLink from dvblogic.com does everthing that EyeTV can do. And if you only need it running on a Mac then it is even Free. the drawback is that it is not as sophisticated and the scheduling is basic compared to EyeTV. Also the GUI is less. Bit it is a goed lternative. For those having a NAS can have a look at TVHeadend. Also Free, good scheduling. For both aTV & IOS apps are available.

Can you test the Diversity with another Mac? It could be broken.

Ich weiss noch eine kleine Möglichkeit. SiliconDust has einiges geändert an ihre webseites. Das git Probleme when die HDHR einde älteres Firmware hat un wird erst bemerkt im moment das die HDHR aus- und wieder eingeschaltet wird. In dem moment erkent er nicht mehr die SD website.
