delete recording fails

recently my eyetv v3.6.9/os10.13.6 has started throwing the error

              The recording could not be deleted. Error code -43 (A file could not be found).

before delete:

after delete, the recording is removed from the eyetv listing, but the directory still exists

so what file is missing? why does etv care if it's missing? why doesn't it simply delete the whole directory?

this had been working for years, nothing has changed, so wtf???

and this morning it stopped throwing errors...

and numerous schedules got duplicated...apparently etv's d/b got corrupted:-\
