Crash in MacOS Ventura

Same problem with me. Doesn't work with Ventura

It is really frustrating. Apple makes beta versions available to developers that are needed precisely so that these problems do not occur. The betas have been available on the developers site for months and yet, as always, Geniatech does not lift a finger all this time. There is no respect for their customers, customers who have paid for the software and deserve it to work perfectly. shame

let's just hope they don't decide to release a new paid app like they did in the transition from 32 to 64 bit, I wouldn't be surprised if that happens.
I still sent a report to technical support yesterday evening. I recommend that you do the same if you haven't already.

I quote. Up to now I paid three licenses.

They are able to get the money, but aren't so eager to prepare a new update on time.

ES IST EINE SCHANDE.

I have done a workaround procedure  (https://eyetvforum.com/index.php?/topic/305278-incompatibility-with-macos-13-ventura-beta) witch fixes 3 problems
- remove codesign on main executable because the signature of the framework AVC is not valid, this cause video stutters.
- remove a flag restricting to Intel in the version 8528 (LSRequiresNativeExecution)
- install the Framework FWAUserLib and binary patch of main executable (which works only with v8528 , offset different in others versions)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 install version 8528 of eyetv4 (https://file.geniatech.com/eyetv4/EyeTV4.0.0_8528.dmg)

2 download missing Framework in Ventura (Firewire audio, deprecated:Apple) from: https://eyetvforum.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=1223

4 Extract Framework "FWAUserLib.framework.zip" in your Downloads folder

5 download shell script from https://eyetvforum.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=1279

6 In a "Terminal" window , type :

7 cd Downloads

8 sudo zsh ./eyetv-ventura1.sh

9 start normaly EyeTV

PROBLEM SOLVED - PLEASE READ

OK people, problem solved. Geniatech supplied me with an updated version, which now works perfectly on my Mac Studio M1 Max with Venture 13.0. Yes, I know it is marked version 8528 but I presume it must be an updated copy of that version or something. The 8528 version from the website didn't work for me, but the 8528 version via the Mega link worked perfectly.

Here is the link:

Thank you so much to Geniatech for resolving my ticket so quickly!

WOW! That worked! THANK YOU!

Interestingly, if I'm playing a video under Ventura everything is fine, but if the EyeTV window is open with no video window, it crashes with a EXC_BAD_ACCESS(SIGSEGV), KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS. But at least it is partially working after your patch.

Note that even with sudo, I was unable to get the shell script to execute in the ~/Downloads folder (probably a Gatekeeper thing). Same problem copying the patched framework file, so I moved everything to the Desktop and it worked fine.

I wrote to the staff and I was promptly indicated a link for EyeTV 4.0.0 (8528).

I downloaded it and it works on macos ventura.

Nice try. You have actually rewritten a quote from your own post in order to make it look like you shared that link over 5 hours before me. The egoism! 😂

I downloaded this version and it works on ventura. Scheduled enrolment is not working! The registration starts but does not end. For example, I programmed from 20 to 23 but at 24 it continued uninterruptedly recording until I pressed the stop button

Great! The latest release solved the problem immediately. Thanks for sharing the solution! But there is still one issue left that came with my new iMac M1. After zapping through various channels the app all of a sudden claims "The station can not be found". I need to quit and reopen eye.tv then it works. Why is that?

Well, didn‘t work for me. De-installed the software with EyeTV reporter and installed the version 8528 that became available here. Result: After the channel search the software crashed on my Mac mini M1 with Ventura. Several restarts but no success.

Perhaps try retuning the app?

Um, sorry to hear that. Several other members have had great success with the newest version.

you mean the channel scan? That I have done, no success

That is disappointing, Hamburger, but it is working for several others here. Perhaps use EyeTV Reporter (downloadable from the Geniatech website) to delete your installation and preferences and start from scratch?

I have done a complete reinstallation yesterday but no positive result. It  appears to be an issue not only with me, check this out please:

there is an awkward observation I made: in the channel edit window  (see pic attached) I can move position 1....8 freely around and it works. From #9 on I can not grab a station and move it to any other position. Is that funny?
