No signal with video composite (source= SONY VCR connected with RCA)

Hi, I tried to connect my Sony Handicam Vision (Hi8 VCR and player) with RCA cables to my EyeTv. I have EyeTv 3 downloaded on my Mac (running Mac Os 10.13.6) but it's receiving no signal. Anyone could help? Thanks!
