  1. after experiencing numerous "disk improperly ejected" warnings (with the ext hdd still mounted) & eyetv missng recordings, and several instances of eyetv beachballing requiring force quitting, i wiped & reinstalled high sierra...
  2. i've recently upgraded to mojave successfully, and omm, my hybrid stick is recognized immediately on insertion (i keep it unplugged so it doesn't burn up, using it only when i'm dubbing from vhs:-) without the s.u.2020-005, so thanx for the warning...btw, that's softwareupdate -l lowercase L not 1-) my problem is running applescripts via osascript on the cli (i frequently need to bounce ired2-\ and sometimes eyetv beachballs on playback & has to be killed)-: since mojave, any invocation of osascript (even /usr/bin/osascript -e "beep") results in 93 repetitions of: 2024-06-15 08:17:25.032 osascript[73894:3581512] Error loading /Library/QuickTime/EyeTV MPEG Support.component/Contents/MacOS/EyeTV MPEG Support: dlopen(/Library/QuickTime/EyeTV MPEG Support.component/Contents/MacOS/EyeTV MPEG Support, 0x0106): code signature in (/Library/QuickTime/EyeTV MPEG Support.component/Contents/MacOS/EyeTV MPEG Support) not valid for use in process: mapping process is a platform binary, but mapped file is not this doesn't happen on hi sierra...wt-f?
