  1. Just downloaded 7528, haven't tried any of the betas, was using ATSC guide, and I had to do a little fiddling to get it off ATSC and on to the eyetv premium guide, had to restart eye tv a couple of times.  The guide looks very similar to the old TV GUIDE, one thing might be missing, it doesn't appear to have NEW search when your setting up a recording guide, so you can have it auto record only new programs.  Otherwise it's nice to have the guide back.  I guess you have to ask support If you can get credit for the missing 5-6 months of use on the guide.

Am gonna editorialize for the rest of this, so please skip if you don't want to read some old guy bloviate, but I gotta "tsk tsk" some of the anger I've read in this thread. Honestly, it's been over 10 years since I actually paid for this program and that it's been updated for this long is a miracle considering no one makes an El-Gato type DVR box for this software anymore. I'll be as sad as anyone when we finally get abandoned for good, but until then, please be kind to the support guys.

Your exactly right, i've had mine for 10 years, it's great software/hardware, people here are getting too angry over a 20 buck a year guide subscription, when they took over the software, they could have easily charged for an upgrade and probably should have.

  3. glad to hear they

t is interesting that more companies are entering this space, providing OTA and even cable card DVR capabilities and whole house solutions, while Eyetv languishes and has just about withdrawn from the North American Market. The replacement program guide systems that the forum has detailed will keep your Eyetv hardware working indefinitely. It would be nice if Geniatech actually "restores" the program guide function, but those who spend their time asking for a refund of a few dollars instead of just fixing it themselves may be waiting indefinitely.

Been using this since 2010 - I’ve got two program guide subscriptions with 8 months left. I’m not going to bother asking for a refund. Hoping they are actually working on a fix. I’m getting by with the atsc guide and manual set ups for now.

It’s a bummer when you have a nice hardware software solution that gets shelved or ignored because the company can’t make money on it. Had that happen with a telephony solution a few years ago, never could replicate that with anything else.  At least eyeTV has alternate solutions.
