  1. I updated my late 2012 iMac to Sierra last week and so far EyeTV 3.6.9 (7514) seems to be working perfectly.
  2. Can anyone report back regarding the effect of the just released 10.12.4 on EyeTV 3.6.9
  3. Any more news on the progress of the TV app? Any chance of answering my question as to whether or not the eyeTV files will require to be converted to be played by the TV app (see my earlier post) like the iOS apps require. If it did that would be a really bad decision.
  4. It would be good to know if the TV app will read the native eyetv files without on the fly transcoding rather than having to "prepare" the file (i.e. transcode it so you nearly double the size of the file) as you currently have to do with iPhone/iPad remote access. There is absolutely no reason to "prepare" a file with the power of modern devices to transcode on the fly (as Infuse, VLC do as examples). I would consider this a critical feature and without it there would be little point in buying a EyeTV TVos app.
  5. Anyone? I don't want to upgrade to Sierra unless I am sure EyeTV will continue to work.
  6. Could anyone who has posted as having problems with EyeTV and Sierra please reply and confirm that version 3.6.9 (7514) has resolved all the issues? Please detail what TV tuner device you are using as well pleas
  7. As Genitech seems to have no interest in posting to this forum I logged an issue with them. This is there reply: Hallo Dr Roger Traill,Thank you for contacting us.We now have the version 7514. you can download from here:https://www.geniatech.eu/eyetv/de/software/The problem with Sierra, our debugging team are working on it. sorry to trouble you. We definitely want to fix this. But not all customers are having problem with Sierra, some does gets a fix after reinstall EyeTV with deinstallation with EyeTV Reporter or reinstallation of Sierra system.BRNingfeng Geniatech EyeTV Support Team Firstly could those who are having problems with EyeTV and Sierra please try this latest version and report back. Secondly if this doesn't correct the issue please download EyeTV Reporter and send the file with an issue email to Genitech support so as to help sort this problem out. I haven't updated to Sierra because I need to be sure EyeTV works (7514 seems to run fine on El Capitan but then so did 7513).

  9. How does on download EyeTV 3.6.9 (7513), on the website download page 7416 is the latest version? When I use the check for updates with 7416 it says it is the latest version. Is anyone aware of later builds?
  10. I know that the eyeTV is just a container with an mpg file within but it is not a standard mpg file. There is some header information (I think) that means most programs will not play the mpg file even when you navigate into the container (I have infuse, nastily and AirVideo HD) and only fairly occasionally does it work). If you export the mpg file (at least for non-mp4 TV broadcasts then that file is read by everything I have tried on it. That however involves an extra step of exporting the file manually from within EyeTV (which is what I do). In Australia our HD TV has shifted to mp4 which brings a further degree of complexity even though it should improve things. I use EyeTV with my Diversity Tuner on my Mac. I use an Australia EPG provider called IceTV. What I want is the ability to play the EyeTV files on my Apple TV without the hassle of exporting the files manually and ideally without doubling the size of the EyeTV files by having EyeTV "prepare" them for iPad use. Modern Macs are powerful enough to transcode on the fly. I was hoping DVBLink on the Apple TV would read the EyeTV files. I am not interested in replacing EyeTV on my Mac nor watching live TV on the Apple TV.
  11. Any word on the release of the EyeTV TVos app? Will it require transcoding of the files in order to view recorded files (like the iPad version does)? It is about time that this was updated so on the fly conversion is done use the CPU or GPU power on the Mac hosting EyeTV. There is plenty of power to do this on modern devices. There are plenty of programs that do this already however the EyeTV mpg files inside the EyeTV file are unusual so that most/all programs can't read them properly (eg. Airvideo or Infuse or Nastify. As a side question does DVBlink read and play EyeTV files without conversion?
