    Ton,

I'm not familiar with TV-Mosaic.  Does it have editing capabilities?  It would be nice to use something that's supported.

It has no editing capabilities but you can use "Video Cutter" for that. You can find it in the App Store, does a good job.

  2. .eyetv is nothing ore than a package/ folder containing files. One of them is the .mpg file. That contains the recorded program. There are many programs that can convert .mpg to DVD, MKV or whatever. Take a look at www.macupdate.com and you will find several.

  3. Both do much more recordings simultaneously. With either I sometimes record up to 8 stations. Have no deep knowledge on the technical stuff but it has to do that with DVB-C a number of stations are bundled in a single transmission. EyeTV only records one of these stations while others record  the bundle and then select what you have chosen.

Tryit out. Both are available fully unlimited at no cost.

I have the same problem and it doesn't matter if I use Gracenote or XMLTV.  I'm not going to renew Gracenote as it is now a rip off.  Is anyone interested in investigating a class action lawsuit against Geniatech and Elgato?

I suggest that you better put your energy in "voting with your feet" meaning looking for alternatives like TV-Mosaic or TVHeadend. Both for to use.

I don't know the TV things. But Geniatech has announced they will be ready, they will. Please trust them. Their customes are all over the world. Why do they take risks to lose them? Now that you choose them, please just give a little faith of them.

Angela, you clearly do not know Geniatechs track record. Let me tell you: it is not lousy, it is very very lousy!

Not only promised they years ago a usable aTV app (which is not available on this day), they took away (without any warning) support for the most popular decoder (HDHomerun) a decoder which was sold directly by Elgato (predecessor of Geniatech), they hardly ever react to problems mentioned here.

So you better start reading some posts here before you post nonsens.

  6. Channels is only a partial solution because EyeTV users will want to play (on desktop and aTV) recordings made on their iMac. Geniatech should stop with their childish behavior and put back HDHomerun (2 and 4 channel version) on the list os supported devices.

Also because there are people who bought it under the Elgato brand.

Their behavior is childish because the only reason is to eliminate a competitor that sells better products than their own.

Personally I find TVHeadend and TV-Mosaic better replacements.
