  1. i'm also running MacOS High Sierra v 10.13.6,  EyeTV Hybrid dongle, HDHomerun and EyeTV3  3.6.9 (7528) b/c eyetv4 doesn't support the hdhr:-\

recently several channels have started jerky playback, but only @ fullscreen...windows play smoothly...wtf???

  2. recently my eyetv v3.6.9/os10.13.6 has started throwing the error

The recording could not be deleted. Error code -43 (A file could not be found).

    before delete:

    > ls -l News4\ Midday.eyetv/
    total 745392
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff       3288 Jul 29 10:46 0000000026b2f423.eyetvp
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff      13600 Jul 29 10:46 0000000026b2f522.eyetvi
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff       2189 Jul 29 10:46 0000000026b2f522.eyetvr
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff  375226568 Jul 29 10:46 0000000026b2f522.mpg
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff     159826 Jul 29 10:46 0000000026b2f522.thumbnail.tiff
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff    6221394 Jul 29 10:46 0000000026b2f522.tiff

after delete, the recording is removed from the eyetv listing, but the directory still exists

    > ls -l News4\ Midday.eyetv/
    total 12480
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff     3288 Jul 29 10:46 0000000026b2f423.eyetvp
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff   159826 Jul 29 10:51 0000000026b2f522.thumbnail.tiff
    -rw-r--r--  1 eyetv  staff  6221394 Jul 29 10:51 0000000026b2f522.tiff

so what file is missing? why does etv care if it's missing? why doesn't it simply delete the whole directory?

this had been working for years, nothing has changed, so wtf???

  3. no, titantv remote scheduling has always been baked into eyetv, and i don't see anywhere to change it, nor do i see any remote scheduling available thru xmltvlistings.

in any case, i have verified that reverting eyetv's guide service to eyetvepgpremium from none (2nd image) restores titantv remote scheduling, with no loss of xmltvlistings:-) and updating manually gives this msg:

    Quote

EyeTVEPGPremium is currently not used by any channel, so no update was necessary.

    so it's all good:-)

i highly recommend titantv...i've used their .tvpi files since before eyetv, when i used crontab to run applescripts to record from a samsung firewire tuner using VirtualDVHS.app;-) and eyetv automatically opens any .tvpi file downloaded from titantv.com schedules...

  4. tv guide used to provide a description of each program, but those seem to be gone:-\ @least some shows have a descriptive episode title.

i can see that the schedule info contains a lot more info (see screenshot)

so how do i access this info programmatically (applescript)?

  5. i finally decided to replace my 2006 minimac, running 10.6.8/etv3.6.9(7528)/hrhomerun/hybrid with  a mojave system, but while the hybrid stick appears in the system profiler, it is not recognized by eyetv:-( and of course the 64 bit version has dropped hdhomerun

    seems i'm stuck with a 14 y.o. mac:-\

  6. 3.5.4 worked fine for me using an hdhr dual & eyetv hybrid, but tvguide subscription requires 3.6.9=, so i tried it...and my hybrid died after i tried 3.6.9, coincidence?-\ and 3.6.9 refuses to recognize my hdhr:-\ so i can use 3.6.9 to get tvguide, but not watch tv, or use 3.5.4 to watch tv w/o tvguide?
