  1. Please ask for a beta version (really I think it is just a release version that has not been released) from Angela. And if you are not able to download it ask for help troubleshooting. I treat the forum participants respectfully and try to impart what information I have gleaned. I treat the staff at Geniatech respectfully and they have come through (eventually). The company is probably on its last legs anyway so I will not kick them on the way down. They still provide a nice, niche entertainment service. When I bought my first Elgato EyeTV Hybrid back in the day, all I wanted was a TV tuner. Wow, I said, when I learned that it came with DVR software! ***We are all sorry that Elgato sold their tuner software division.***
  2. I had the issue too, seemingly. Then I tried again later and the app was downloaded to the Applications folder (on my iMac) after I gave permission for the download to complete. Angela said to try a different browser as a troubleshooting measure.
  3. After a couple of hiccups on my part, I have a beta of EyeTV 3 running and it has downloaded the EPG from TV Guide. I had to delete the the old database before the new would come down. Seems to be working, folks.

  6. Okay folks. I got a beta from Angela. It looks like we (EyeTV 3 folks) are being moved to TV Guide for the program source in US and Canada. I tried updating the TV Guide Program Guide in the beta app and there was a server failure. Guess it is not ready for prime time (LOL). What is EyeTV 4 using?

  8. Oh, yes. We will let the forum know if we get the Premium Guide data back for EyeTV 3. I am getting impatient, but still understand that a company with few developers (such as Geniatech) do have a hard time. And they may be on their last legs as a company, who knows?

  10. The most current version of EyeTV 3 is 3.6.9 (7528). You can contact Geniatech support and get a link (which is probably what you did anyway since you did not get a prompt response here).
  11. After the EPG failure in February 2019, the beta of EyeTV 3 to fix the problem was released in June 2019. At the time I had to ask to download the beta to test it and get some semblance of normality in the EPG feed. The final (EyeTV 3.6.9 (7528)) was released in July 2019. July 5, 2019 to be exact--look at the app creation date.

  13. Hmm, I don't know what "mc2xml" is. The beta of EyeTV 3 to fix the problem of no EPG data was released in June 2019 (after the failure in Feb. 2019). The final (7528) was released in July 2019. At the time I had to ask to download the beta to test it and get some semblance of normality in the EPG feed. Since EyeTV 4 is back to normal, I wonder what is taking so long with EyeTV 3.
  14. I looked back into my records. It took 5 months (in 2019) for Geniatech to get a beta of EyeTV 3 out that resolved the problem. I was given 6 months of subscription extension. It was an awful situation as a customer to wait so long for service. At the time, many people moved on to using xmltv to get their TV programing schedules into EyeTV. I held on by using TitanTV searches and sending scheduling remotely -- this is what I am doing now until the server issue is resolved..

Tried to clear the EPG database in diagnostics but the EyeTV application hangs and does not complete the task.
  20. EyeTV 3.6.9 (7528), MacOS 10.14.6. iMac 4K Retina 2017. Subscription for EyeTV EPGPremium NA valid until Jan. 20, 2022. This problem started today, July 2, 2021. Program was losing future program listing before then. Can't do diagnostics on the problem because the app will not delete the EPG database. EyeTV hangs when trying. I left it to do the deletion for about 20 minutes. I had to hard quit EyeTV several times. I rebooted my computer to get a fresh start. Please someone help. There does not seem to be any tech support with this product.
