EyeTV 3.6.9 (7524) errors while recording

Hello,

A. using EyeTV 3.6.9 (7524) with  hardware EyeTV Netstream 4Sat works well thelast two years, also recording two programmed movies parallel. But a few weeks ago, a problem grows more and more: the first record dont stops after the konfigured time (somtimes for 10 hours!)and the second recording dont starts :-(. 

B. Another problem: After recoding some movie, the eyescedule-file doest disappaer and so, the recoding still remains in the recordlist until deleting it manually.

Did anybody have teh same problems and waht to do?

... and  a few days EyeTV 3.6.9(7524) works well but now again it dont/doesnt (?)  records predefined TV-schedules so i missed two very fine movies last night 😞 After rebooting my new mac mini (2018) ( macOS 10.14.3 Mojave)  and starting EyeTV automaticly, a warning message (see below) was shown.

"EyeTV is not optimized for your Mac and has to pe updated. This App will not work with new versions of macOS and has to be updated, to preserv compatibility. Please contact developer, to get more informations"

is the Developer Crew also reading here? So, what to do?

Welches Entwicklerteam? Da gibts doch keines mehr, oder weiß da jemand was Gegenteiliges?

Nachdem die Notwendigkeit und Forderung für eine 64-bit Version von EyeTV hier seit mind. 2 Jahren wiederholt wird und Geniatech keinerlei Auskunft zum Thema gibt, haben hier alle langsam den Glauben verloren, dass da noch was kommt. Wenngleich einige noch empfänglich für eine positive Überraschung wären. Nur so mein Gefühl.

Mir hat EyeTV seit über 10 Jahren gute Dienste geleistet und bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten ist es für mich immer noch die TV-Software der Wahl und ich bin nach wie vor Anhänger des linearen TVs. Entweder ist Geniatech dieses Klientel wurscht oder sie schätzen lineares TV als Relikt der Vergangenheit ein. Warum sie dann allerdings von Elgato gekauft haben, erörtern sie leider nicht hier. Ich würde es gerne verstehen, selbst wenn sich dadurch am befürchteten Ende von EyeTV nichts ändern wird.

searching for solutions of my problems with EyeTV, i found thie very interting thread.

Bei der Suche nach Lösungen für meine Problme mit EyeTV fand ich diesen sehr interessanten thread

it seems, there will be a group of specailaist with detailt technical ambitions and knowledge.

Mir scheint, da gibt es eine Gruppe mit etwas mehr technischem Wissen und Engagement.

Denn bei all den Problemen, die ich auch bei anderen hier im Forum schon lesen konnte, als da wären:

* Nichtt funktionierende Editeirfunktion wg. fehlende Indexbilder beim EyeTV 3.6.9 (7524) und dem DVB-T2-HD-Hybrid-USB-Empfänger.

*  Programmierte , aber nicht startende Aufnahmen beim Eye TV Netstream 4 Sat und EyeTV 3.6.9 (7524)

* Parallelaufnahmen, deren erste Aufnahme trotz genauen Stopzeitpunktes stundenlang weiter speichert, wöhrned die zwei Aufnahme gar nicht  nicht startet

habe ich nun genau das auch in dem o.a. thread und an anderer Stelle geschildertes Problem, :

* programmierte Aufnahmen stoppen plötzlich und ohne Grund nach einer Dauer von 29 Minuten !!!

Dies Probelm scheinene außer mir offenbar auch noch mehrere Perosnen zu haben. Es hat sogar einen eigenen Namen mittlerweile "29-Minuten-Problem" oder "29-minutes-issue".

Und nun der Hammer: Wie iin obigem thread weiter unten beschrieben, scheint das ein Problem desr EyeTV-Software mit der Vernetzugn des Sat-Receivers und des Apple zu tun zu haben. Ich bin in den letzen Tagen fast verzweifel und habe mal das EyeTV und aber auch den ganzen Rechner und zuletzte auch den Netstream 4Sat neu gebootet. Nichts half. Dann lese ich von einer witzigen Aktion und schalte , obwohl mein Mac Mini eine 1GB- LAN-Verbindnung im Wohnungsnetz hat, zusätzlich dessen WLAN ein. Es ist kaum zu glauben, aber genau ab dannr funktionierte jede Aufzeichnung. Ich scheine zufällig genau die im obigen thread herausgefundene Startsequenz des Apple und des EyeTV und des WLAN "gefunden" zu haben. Aber mal ehrlich, das ist doch keine Lösung.

Aber traurig ist das ganze schon und mittlerweile habe ichimmer Angst, wenn eine neues macOS Update raus kommt und das EyeTV wieder nicht angepasst wird, was nun wieder passiert!

Eye TV 3.6.9 (7524) ist nun schon über ein Jahr alt.und ein wenig stimme ich meinem "Vor-Schrieber" schon zu, was die Geniatech-Entwicklungsabteilung, so es sie überhaupt gibt, anstellt -  "Leistet" wollte ich nicht schreiben. Mittlerweile habe ich meinen Leib-und-Magen-Apple-Händler, der die Produkte von Geniatech auch vertreibt, mal dazu angesprochen. Die Geniatechzentrale für Europa liegt ganz in der Nähe von Aachen. Man kennt dort den Chef der G.-Filiale und ich habe gebeten, ihn wiedeumr zu bitten doch mal ihrer Zentrale etwas Dampf zu machen. 

Es ist wirklich traurig. Seit vielen Jahren habe ich die Hard- und auch die Software von Elgato regelrecht geliebt. Jede Menge DVB-T-Reciever für mac Books und iOS-Geräten  u.s.w habe ich gekauft und war eigentlich bis auf meist eigene Blödheit beim Handling  immer sehr zufrieden.

No 64 bit EyeTV for Catalina on the horizon. We have come to believe that the MacOS side has been abandoned.

Issues with incomplete recordings, scheduled recording that do not stop are still problems. We don't think Geneitech developers are actually working on the EyeTV software for macOS.

In June 2018 I asked Geniatech about upgrading the software v 3.6.9 to run on future Mac OSs which will only accept 64 bit. The answer is here: https://www.geniatech.eu/faq/eyetv-32-bit-macos-highsierra-10-13-4/. The new Mac OS will be launched in September or October 2019

The information is not very clear but the company seems to be aware of the problem, Whether it does anything about it is another matter. Some of us still have a useless EyeTV Mobile device which will only run on iOS 9 or below so the prospect of upgrading 3.6.9 does not look good.

Responding to myself!

I wrote "Angela" asking about my original support ticket from February about EPG not updating. I have been checking in with "her" about the EPG issue about once a month since then. I have not gone the route of using other EPG sources due to laziness.

I asked about the EyeTV beta and was sent a link with set up instructions. Seems to work fine! Took a little time to set up channel names so thank goodness I only do over-air TV and have less than 30 channels that I care about. And I think I have solved my "incomplete recordings, scheduled recording that do not stop" problems by having EyeTV check the TitanTV Remote scheduling every hour. I think the recording not stopping issue was due to a sleep issue in my iMac 5K 2017 (even though it is set to not sleep). So far after several days the recordings are the time frames they should have. Other software I run, SuperDuper!, was having issues for a while in late 2018 I think due to same iMac in a sleep state when the software tried to run even though the settings I had/have are for the iMac to never sleep.
