Hi thomaskud, first of all thanks for your support.Unfortunately I read this post too late, I bought the terratec s7 just to see it on mac with eyetv and now I know it does not work. Are there news or will there be?

    thanks a lot

Unfortunately, the new Terratec S7 Rev.4 (new model since 2014) is still not supported, sorry :(

My suggestion: return your S7 and purchase an another eyetv 3 supported receiver (for example our products ;) )

Thank you for the update, Thomas.  Unfortunately the updated to EyeTV 3.6.9(7522) breaks compatibility with my HDHomerun Tuners, rendering the software useless to me.

I hope the dropped support for HDHomerun tuners was an oversight that will be remedied soon.  If the dropping of support was deliberate, I hope the company will reconsider.

For HDHomerun, please use eyetv 3.6.9(7520), https://www.geniatech.eu/download/eyetv-3-6-9-7520/

The above is now one 1 year old!!!!!

And nothing in the positive has happened. Worse, the situation has degraded even further. No aTV app, problems with High Sierra, no response to problem messages, no sign of EyeTV 4 (64 bits)

In short: EyeTV (software and hardware!) have become abandonware. Products that are sold without any support.

There are 11 moderators (an absurd large group for a niche product)

    @Abigale @David Andel @Dual_HD @Echo88 @justin @Mikyesun @N.Z @Nick @NinjaKai @thomaskud @Vanessa

but where are the technicians i.e. people that know how to program and solve problems?

Where is the management that should decide on timelines?

    What is the timeline?

    And more, more, more questions.

    Hi Ton,

    1) aTV app: We published a netstream app for tvOS that supports all eyetv netstream devices. We know this app is not an "eyetv app/eyetv 3 app" on tvOS, please give us some time, ;) we also have a lot of tasks to do (h.265, macOS high Sierra etc.).

    2) problems with High Sierra: good news for you, we just updated eyetv 3 software. The latest version is 3.6.9(7522) and it runs more stable with macOS high Sierra. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Thomas

Is there any way to record a tv signal over the air including pay tv for later viewing.

    Have a good day

    Hi Smedev,

Unfortunately, Eyetv products don't support PayTV (CI slot) anymore.

    Hi,

I purchased EyeTV T2 Hybrid in late May and have been a happy user ever since.

A couple of days back the OSX app started crashing upon startup, I reinstalled earlier versions, the most current version to no avail.

I have found out that the EYETV application crashes immediately if the tuner is plugged in any USB port (I also have an old tuner from Elgato times which did not have HD support - and plugging that tuner in does not cause crashing).

The EYETV app works fine (can view recordings) when the tuner is not plugged in.

Could my tuner have broken and that causes the crashing ?

(I did fill in a support form 4-5 days ago with crash logs and all, but have not heard anything back - hence this approach)

    Please advise,

    Hi Janne,

May you give us your support tickect number via PM? In this case, your hardware might be faulty.

Any news about this? I'm very interested! I had 2 EyeTV DTT Deluxe, and both broken itself suddenly after some years, I think because the excessive heat in such a small size device. So I would like to try something bigger and don't need to connect to the computer.

We're still working on the decoder/encoder of HEVC ;)  It will be coming soon.

    Hello all!

I have been a long time user of EyeTV and HD Homerun for live OTA on my Mac. However at some point in time within the last few months the live video has become more and more choppy until it's become annoying enough to be not watchable. It will run steady for seconds at a time, maybe 20, 30 seconds at times, but then freeze video and often audio as well, up to multiple seconds with no A/V. I can't say for sure what's changed to precipitate the freezing, but I did try to upgrade the HD Homerun source as well as EyeTV to latest while trying to solve it..

    Current setup:

macOS Sierra / iMac Retina 27" Late 2014

    EyeTV 3.6.9 (7518)

    HDHomeRun HDHR-US / Firmware 20161119

Anyone know where I should even start to look first? I'm connecting over WiFi, but this has perfect pings and throughput without any latency or jitter. The signal strength's are shown in the Devices panel as 100%, Signal Quality upper 80%s to 90%s.

I appreciate if anyone can point me in a direction to look because I can't find anything on the network side of things. Thanks!

Check the cpu load of your mac while running EyeTV 3.

Probably, your hardware (HDHomeRun) is fauty...

Who can help me? I am using an iMac with Yosemite (OS 10.10.5) and since the reception of tv-channels in Germany has been changed  completely (April 2017) my app ROXIO TOAST 15 PRO is not able anymore to burn a DVD with the HD-material that eyetv delivers. A Roxio plugin did not help. Roxio reports an error: The Format mpa is unknown... Before it was mpeg 2, now it has changes to mpa. What can I do to convert the films to mp4 or mp2 ??? Does anybody have an idea about the best solution? Thank you in advance!

DVB-T2 HD in Germany uses H.265 which probably is not supported by your toast. You can use any "trans-coder" to export all H.265 files/recordings to H.264, for example "Handbrake":

    Hallo thomaskud,

    A.

    Hi Arnd_Gehrmann,

Natürlich dürfen Sie hier auch auf Deutsch schreiben. ;)

The things I am recording are in the UK and the mpg files within the eyetv package report as H264.  Would there be any benefit to making files I have recored available for testing?

we did some tests with your recording:

    1. dragged into EyeTV 3 - window - EyeTV Program - recording, clicked to play with EyeTV 3 software 3.6.9(7518) ---- video/audio good.

    2. right clicked .eyetv file - show package contents - played the MPEG-4 file with Mac Media Player 2.16.17.2455 ---- video/audio good.

    3. exported the recording in EyeTV 3 software (7518), tried "1080P"/"720P"/"iPad", then play with Mac Media Player ---- video/audio still fine.

    4. dragged the MPEG-4 file in package contents direct into iTunes and play ---- video/audio good.

Which version of macOS/Media Player are you using? I thought it's a software issue (decode incorrectly), but not on our side...

    * iTunes version 12.4.3.1 / macOS El Capitan

I tried to do exactly as you wrote, deleting the driver (fig. 1), then I tried to install Total TV.

During the installation appears the same notice of the previous post, decided to continue the installation.

Installed the new driver without wizard (fig. 2) and tried to open unsuccessfully TerraTec Home Cinema.

I tried to restore Total TV, but the same notice appears.

I tried to restart the S.O. in every step with the same conclusion.

In the past, I had installed it with a new S.O. installation. I hope don't have to reinstall the S.O. again to have it.

The windows that appears trying to install the software after the installation of the new drivers, asks to install the device because any hardware is installed. Install the driver and restart a new installation. If I want to continue the installation, not all the necessary parts will be installed.

    Eyetv.jpg

    1. delete the driver in device manager by using right click.

    2. re-install Total TV software

    3. download the driver for T2/T2 Lite again.

    4. in this case, do not use the setup wizard. Open device manager on your windows pc, find EyeTV T2/T2 Lite ("EyeTV stick" with a yellow exclamation mark).

    5. right click, update driver, select the folder (x64 for 64 bit system or x86 for 32 bit system).

    6. click continue until the driver has been successfully installed.

    Stuck in which step?

So far so good.  I have recorded a few things I would have expected to have issues before and the audio has been fine.

The encoding issue still remains though.  It's odd, when I encode to 1080p for AppleTV it is very fast.  I presume that is because it is not transcoding but merely rewrapping the existing MPG and copying it to the iTunes library.  If I simply copy the mpg out of the package into iTunes then the video plays fine but there is no audio at all.  I suspect something might be happening to the metadata in the transfer which is confusing the iTunes player.

Encode from H.265 (DVB-T2 HD) to H.264? The editor function for H.265 (DVB-T2 HD in Germany) still needs to be fixed. Our developer team is working on it, no worries ;)

  15. Guten Morgen,

I used to use http://my.eyetv.com to access the MyEyeTV service to connect my laptop back to my EyeTV when away from home. This is the same service that allows the iOS app to stream from EyeTV. Now when I go to the URL that I used to use I get a page on elgato's site that doesn't work. I can't find any documentation on how to access it now that Geniatech owns EyeTV. The service is obviously still up since it works on my iOS devices. Help! My wife is away from home and we just discovered this today, leaving her unable to watch the Packer's game. She's not happy with me right now....

Greetings, here's the new URL of our server:

    https://services.geniatech.eu/

    1. register

    2. login under EyeTV 3 - preferences - iPhone - My EyeTV

    3. Port 2170 (default) of your router must be allowed, as Ton said ;)
